WHITE PLAINS – A Peekskill man was sentenced in Westchester County on Tuesday to six years in state prison on each of two counts of rape.
William Arias-Abril, 37, pled guilty in May to two counts of rape of an underage girl.
On January 12, 2019, the 16-year-old victim reported to Peekskill Police she had been raped by Arias-Abril in May 2018 and continued until January of this year.
When he caught wind that the victim went to police, he fled to Connecticut.
On January 16, Peekskill Police, the FBI New York Safe Streets Task Force and Danbury Police arrested Arias-Abril in Danbury.
He waived extradition to New York on January 29.
