POUGHKEEPSIE – A Dutchess County grand jury, Monday, indicted a man in connection with the December 30, 2017 murder of a man in his Poughkeepsie home.

Anthony Abbott, 36, was charged with three counts of murder, robbery and burglary in connection with the death of James Griffin, 68, during the course of a robbery and burglary in his home.

Abbott has been incarcerated since January 2018 on a robbery charge which is pending in Ulster County, District Attorney William Grady said.

The DA complimented the Poughkeepsie City Police Department for “conducting a thorough and challenging investigation in conjunction with Bureau Chief Robert Knapp from my office.”
