WASHINGTONVILLE – The Washingtonville Central School District named Dr. Larry Washington as its new superintendent.
Washington, a resident of Warwick with over 24 years of experience in education, will be leaving his post as principal at Warwick Valley High School.
In Washingtonville, he will be replacing Roy Reese, who is retiring at the end of his contract.
“Dr. Washington’s extensive knowledge and diverse background in education, along with his strong believes regarding communication and unity, made him the unanimous choice of the board of education,” said Washingtonville Board President Jennifer Dellova.
Washington was offered a three-year contract with a $208,000 annual salary. He will begin on August 15 as the deputy superintendent, working alongside Reese and will become superintendent on October 1.
