NEW CITY – The Rockland County CSEA has voted to ratify a tentative contact with the county covering the period of August 2016 to December 31, 2021.

County Executive Edwin Day plans to sign the agreement, which must also be approved by the county legislature.

The agreement includes an $800 lump sum payment in 2017 and a $1,500 lump sum payment in 2018. In 2019 members will receive a two percent salary increase and in 2020 and 2021, they will receive a three percent each year.

The union last received a percentage raise – two percent – to their base salary but did receive a 0.65/ hour increase in 2016.

The cost of this contract through the end of 2019 is some $4 million, which is being internally appropriated from the 2019 budget. Future increases in 2020 and 2021 will be appropriately budgeted in those years.

“We are starting to turn the corner financially and wouldn’t be where we are today without the hard work of our dedicated employees,” Day said.
