NEWBURGH – Mayor Torrance Harvey expects the City of Newburgh to have a new comptroller in the not-too-distant future.
It suffered one potential setback as budget consultant Charles Duffy of South Salem had expressed interest in the job, but Harvey now said he withdrew his application.
“Now that we have our interim city manager, we are going to be setting up some interviews and confirming someone shortly after the new year,” the mayor said.
At last count, Harvey said they have about 30 applications for the city comptroller’s job.
