Carmel man charged with $40,000 in damage to Shrub Oak pool

YORKTOWN – Police in Yorktown
have arrested a 19-year-old Carmel Man in connection with a September
6 fire that caused extensive damage to the pool area at the Shrub Oak
Pool.

The man, whose name was not made public, was charged with criminal mischief,
arson and criminal trespass related to damage to the pool and related
equipment estimated to be about $39,900.

The investigation into the incident led to the man being sought for questioning
and at 10:25 p.m. on December 21, an officer pulled a driver over for
crossing the pavement markings and recognized him as the person of interest.

It was determined that the man had allegedly entered the fenced in pool
area of the Shrub Oak Park and started a fire.

He was arraigned with bail set at $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
