SAUGERTIES – Police are looking for a 21-year-old Saugerties man
who is wanted for the felonies of attempted burglary and attempted robbery
in connection with a home invasion that occurred around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday,
December 19.

Saugerties Police said the suspect, Andrew Rodriguez, allegedly forced
his way into the victim’s home and while armed with a handgun, threatened
to shoot the homeowner and the homeowner’s home healthcare aide
if they didn’t turn over medications.

A physical altercation ensued between the victim and Rodriguez while the
healthcare aide was able to call 911.
A neighbor who also heard the commotion called 911.

Rodriguez fled the scene in a waiting car parked in front of the home
before police arrived.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Anyone who may know the whereabouts of Andrew Rodriguez is asked to call
the Saugerties Police Department at 845-246-9800. All calls will be kept
confidential.

Rodriguez is considered armed and dangerous and if seen, police should
be called immediately by calling 911.

Rodriguez is five feet, nine inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds with
black hair and brown eyes.
