WHITE PLAINS – Federal authorities charged a Mount Vernon man aiding and abetting the murder of David DeGrace, 36, on August 26. Barry Johnson, 26, allegedly killed DeGrace as a result of a marijuana distribution conspiracy.
Johnson was arrested on Thursday in Mount Vernon.
According to the indictment, Johnson shot DeGrace during a narcotics offense.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of death or life in prison.
FBI Assistant Director William Sweeney, Jr. said Johnson aided and abetted the death of DeGrace “for no other reason than to further that drug trade.” He pledged that the FBI and its partners “are committed to eradicating drugs and associated criminal activity from our streets.”
