STEWART AIRPORT – A second
hotel has been proposed by the owners of the Homewood Suites by Hilton
at New York Stewart International and they are seeking financial incentives
from the Orange County Industrial Development Agency.

Airport Properties VIII, LLC is seeking a 10-year payment-in-lieu-of-taxes,
sales tax exemption on construction materials and a mortgage recording
fee exemption to build a Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott adjacent
to the other facility.

The four-story, 83-room hotel would be open in the spring 2020 and employ
23 people.

If constructed, this would be the third hotel at the airport. A Courtyard
by Marriott hotel at the Stewart Industrial Park off Route 17K in the
Town of Newburgh was the first hotel built at Stewart.

The IDA Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed Fairfield Inn
and Suites before ruling on the proposed financial incentives.
