GREENVILLE – A Greenville man has been arrested on felony charges
of aggravated cruelty to animals and failure to provide proper veterinary
care and sustenance to three horses under his care.

Peter DePaulo, 62, of Decker Road was charged following an investigation
by the Hudson Valley SPCA Humane Law enforcement Division in cooperation
with the State Police at the Greenville Barracks.

He allegedly left the horses on his property without food and water resulting
in them becoming emaciated.

Rather than feeding the horses and obtaining veterinary care, DePaulo
is alleged to have repeatedly shot the horses in a cruel and inhumane
fashion causing a painful protracted death.

He also failed to bury the animal carcasses within 72 hours, authorities
said.

DePaulo was processed and ordered to return to Greenville Town Court next
month.
