Dutchess County forms Climate Smart Communities Task Force

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess
County is pursuing certification as part of the state’s Climate
Smart Communities program and in its pursuit has created a Climate Smart
Communities Task Force.

Goals of the program include increased energy efficiency, increased use
of renewable energy and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as well
as reduction in overall energy use and its associated costs.

County Executive Marcus Molinaro and Legislature Chairman Gregg Pulver
have appointed 16 members to the new task force.

The first meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on December 20 at the county
Department of Planning and Development’s new location at 85 Civic
Center Plaza in the City of Poughkeepsie.
