Route 17 shut down as woman threatens to jump off overpass

GOSHEN – Route 17 eastbound in the Goshen-Chester area was completely shut down for about an hour beginning at 11:30 on Tuesday morning as a young woman threatened to harm herself.
Local and State Police were called to the scene as a woman threatened to jump off a bridge above the highway. Officers eventually persuaded her to come off the overpass.
