NEW YORK – A New Windsor man was sentenced in federal court to 20 years in federal prison for enticing a child to engage in illegal sexual activity.
Clinton Edwards, who was sentenced on November 30, had pled guilty on July 2, 2018.
According to court documents and Edwards’ plea, in May and June 2017 he used social media and texting applications on his iPhone to entice a 14-year-old girl to have sex with him. During their text messaging, he solicited sexually explicit photos and videos from the victim and sent her a video of himself engaged in sexual activity.
Despite knowing the child was 14, he arranged to meet her to have sex. On June 6, 2017, Edwards met the girl at her apartment building and engaged in sexual activity in the building’s basement and used his iPhone to record a portion of the activity.
The basement’s surveillance cameras captured Edwards’ sexual conduct with the child as well as his use of a smartphone to film a portion of that conduct.
He later drove the victim to his New Windsor home where they continued to have sex for several days.
