COXSACKIE – A 17-year-old
student at Coxsackie-Athens High School has been charged with a felony
of making a terroristic threat for posting a video on social media indicating
that he was going to blow up the school.

A sweep of the school was conducted by K-9 units of the State Police,
which resulted in no explosive devices being found.

The youth was released to his parents.

State Police were assisted by the school resource officers from both the
Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Village of Coxsackie Police
Department.

In another school threat incident, a 16-year-old student was reported
to have had a gun in school on October 29. The investigation revealed
he had a BB gun that he brought with him to the Hudson Career and Technology
Education Center and then to the Cairo-Durham High School.

There was no indication that the BB gun was loaded or that the student
had any ammunition with it.

Based on his age and the circumstances of the case, there were no charges
filed and any discipline will be handled by the school administrations.
