HIGHLAND FALLS – A husband and wife are dead in a murder-suicide stemming from domestic incident in Highland Falls.
State Police were called to their home at 6 Knox Road around 8:40 a.m.
Friday and found both dead.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Mario Vanzetta, 41, killed his wife, Stephanie Vanzetta, 41, before taking his own life. It is believed Vanzetta used a gun he owned, shot his wife outside and then dragged her body into their house.
She had recently asked for a divorce, according to a family friend.
The couple has three children.
The husband was an air marshal, according to the friend.
Autopsies will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
