CENTRAL NYACK – Clarkstown Police are looking for a man who held up a clerk at the Nyack Food Mart at 4 Waldron Avenue in Central Nyack Wednesday night.
The robber, armed with a semi-automatic handgun, entered the store around 11:30 p.m. and pointed the weapon at the 48-year-old male clerk and two customers. He ordered them to go to the rear of the store and struck one customer, who appeared to have resisted the man.
The suspect ordered the clerk to empty the cash register and then fled with an unknown amount of cash, but not before he struck the clerk in the head with the gun.
Both customers left the store before police arrived and the clerk refused medical attention.
The suspect was described as black, and was wearing a blue hoodie, black pants and gray sneakers.
