KINGSTON – A Lake Katrine woman was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies on one count of welfare fraud and four counts of offering a false instrument for filing.
Kira Montgomery Cruz allegedly filed documents with the county Department of Social Services between September 2017 and April 2018 failing to disclose her household composition and income resulting in her receiving $2,649 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits and $2,709.50 in daycare benefits to which she was not entitled.
Cruz was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Ulster Town Court.
