Wilson: “I am very proud to be
an American

GOSHEN – Dorothy Wilson of Pine Bush celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday with dozens of veterans singing “Happy Birthday” to her.
Wilson is a veteran of World War II having served as a Navy WAVE.
She was at the Orange County Veterans’ Cemetery in Goshen for a ceremony honoring World War I soldiers who were all killed on the same date, September 29, 1918.
Wilson has an undying love for her country. “I am very proud to be an American,” she said, noting the nation is facing some troubled times in Washington right now.
“I know there are some things that are going around now in our government that are not too happy, but America always survives,” she said.
Wilson was assigned to New York City during her World War II stint in the volunteer Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service).
