FISHKILL – Two men have been arrested for trying to smuggle drugs
into Fishkill Correctional Facility.

Kennard Blount, 40, of New Windsor, was charged with criminal sale of
a controlled substance, promoting prison contraband and conspiracy, all
as felonies.

John Walden, 66, of the Bronx, was charged with felony drug possession
and promoting prison contraband and a misdemeanor drug possession charge.

The two were arrested on Wednesday, September 12 after state prison investigators
notified State Police of the two attempting to smuggle in drugs on September
8.

Walden tried to smuggle in 30 dosage units of Suboxone while Blount allegedly
conspired with Walden to supply the controlled substance.
Both men were arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without
