MONTICELLO – Every summer the all-volunteer Hatzolah ambulance service of New York City expands its service to the Catskills to serve the region.
Thousands of New York metropolitan area residents migrate to the region during the vacation season to enjoy all it has to offer and Hatzolah expands its presence to accommodate the public need.
To show appreciation for the cooperative nature of local emergency services agencies, Catskills Hatzolah recognized the collaboration among all government agencies- EMS, fire departments and law enforcement.
Among those honored recently was Orange County Emergency Services Commissioner Brendan Casey, who is helping Hatzolah with their effort to revamp the radio communications tower for the stretch of New York Route 17 aimed at helping Hatzolah carry out its work with the right communication methods.
