NARROWSBURG – The State Department of Health has issued a commissioner’s emergency order to close Kelly’s Home for Adults in Narrowsburg following a complaint inspection last week in which it was found “that facility residents were not receiving appropriate care and living in deplorable conditions,” agency spokeswoman Erin Silk said Thursday.
Silk told Mid-Hudson News that the health department is working with local health care agencies “to ensure that services and support continue uninterrupted for residents” and that the department will monitor the situation “as closure plan commences, which will include daily onsite visits and correspondence.”
The commissioner’s order closes the facility for 60 days. “Prior to the expiration of this period and unless the operator voluntarily surrenders its operating certificate, the department will commence a proceeding to permanently revoke its operating certificate,” she said.
As for possible fines against the operator, Silk said no decision has been made.
