ANCRAM – The Columbia County
Sheriff’s Office on Monday released the identity of the teen killed
when the pickup truck he was driving ran off a road in the Town of Ancram
on Friday evening, July 20, and truck a large tree.
Authorities said the victim was Patrick Sheridan, 16, of Ancramdale.
The sheriff’s office said the youth was traveling westbound on Over
Mountain Road and for unknown reasons, failed to negotiate a curve, ran
off the dirt roadway and struck a large tree on the driver’s side.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was in the vehicle and the accident remains under investigation
by sheriff’s deputies and investigators.
