WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man was sentenced on Westchester County
Court to 15 years in state prison for the shooting of a four-year-old
girl and the robbery of a two men in Yonkers.

Floyd Bruce was sentenced by County Court Judge Barry Warhit after pleading
guilty in June 2017 to robbery, attempted assault and criminal possession
of a weapon, all as felonies.

At about 4:40 p.m. on July 26, 2016, Bruce and another person who has
since been convicted were on Palisades Avenue in Yonkers. Both defendants
armed with handguns, approached two men in a parked car. They proceeded
to rob both men at gunpoint then run from the scene.

Yonkers Police arrested the men the following day. When Bruce was arrested,
police recorded a .22 caliber semi-automatic handgun that was in his possession.

In an earlier unrelated incident, at about 5:15 p.m. on July 16, 2016,
Bruce was walking alone on Willow Street in Yonkers when he fired a pistol
of the same caliber striking the young child in the leg. She was not the
intended target.

The child was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released
a few days later.
