POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office has donated 20 ballistic vests to the US military. The vests were previously worn by members of the sheriff’s office and were recently replaced by newer ones.
The idea of donating the vests was developed through the Law Enforcement Honor Committee and is being led by Sheriff’s Deputy Carmine Romeo, who is a founding member of the honor committee.
The vests were shipped on Thursday to Air Force Capt. Stephan Durso, stationed in Tennessee, who will deploy them as necessary.
Sheriff Adrian Anderson said his office will continue to support our military whenever possible.
