STORMVILLE – State prison officials are continuing to investigate an incident involving several inmates at Green Haven Correctional Facility on Sunday.
State Department of Corrections and Community Services spokesman Thomas Mailey said the incident was brought under control by facility security staff.
“One inmate required treatment at an outside hospital and was then returned to the facility,” he said. While he provided no specifics of the incident, a communication to emergency medical personnel Sunday said an inmate had been stabbed in the abdomen.
“DOCCS has zero tolerance for violent acts in our facilities,’ Mailey said.
