Juvenile from Berkshire Farm Center arrested for stealing car

NEW LEBANON – A 15-year-old youth from Berkshire Farms in Columbia County has been arrested and charged with stealing a vehicle from New Lebanon last Friday.
When State Police stopped it around 4:10 a.m. for a vehicle and traffic violation, the driver sped off into Massachusetts, but the vehicle was identified as stolen and the youth as missing from the boys’ facility.
Both the boy and the car were later located and the youth was returned to Berkshire Farm staff. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Columbia County Family Court.
