Fawns, later reunited with their mother

BLOOMINGBURG – A Bloomingburg resident was charged with illegal possession of wildlife after a state environmental conservation officer found two fawns in a small, fenced enclosure in the backyard.
The homeowner told the officer he captured the fawns because he thought they were hurt and hungry. The animals were determined to be in good health and in captivity for a short period of time. A local wildlife rehabilitator was contacted.
Their mother was also spotted nearby and they were released.
The officer visited the homeowner the following day and issued a summons for illegal possession of wildlife.
