POUGHKEEPSIE – The Boards of Directors of Family Services and Hudson Valley Mental Health have announced plans to fully merge the two agencies.
The two have been legally affiliates since Hudson Valley Mental Health’s incorporation in 2005. The formal merger is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The complete merger was based on the conviction that it would be in the best interest of the two organizations and of the people served by both.
Both agencies have expanded their services in recent years – Hudson Valley Mental Health has added Ulster County to its Dutchess service area and Family Services now works with families in Dutchess, Ulster and Orange counties.
Family Services, created in 1879, provides programs and services in the region including youth services, family programs, victim services, prevention, community safety and the Family Partnership Center, all designed to strengthen individuals, families and communities.
