Rain didn’t slow down the utility crews on Saturday

CARMEL – The Putnam County Emergency Operation Center continues to coordinate the restoration efforts from the tornadoes that caused destruction and power outages in the hardest hit areas of Kent, Patterson and Putnam Lake as well as other communities still without power.
The county and local highway departments and working with NYSEG, out-of-state utility companies and tree crews to continue the cut, clear and restore the area.
As of late Saturday, NYSEG reported 6,088 outages in Putnam County, predominately in the Kent and Patterson communities.

“I want to thank everyone for their support of one another during these difficult times and their patience with the recovery efforts,” said County Executive MaryEllen Odell. “Our teams are the hardest working and most dedicated around and our county has demonstrated the finest examples of respect throughout this ordeal.” The crews will be back 7 a.m. tomorrow rain or shine, said Odell
