Two injured when fire rips through Chestnut Ridge apartments

CHESTNUT RIDGE – A late afternoon fire Friday damaged several apartments on Hubert Humphrey Drive in the Village of Chestnut Ridge.
Ramapo Town Police are investigating with assistance from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
Two residents sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The American Red Cross assisted displaced residents.
South Sprint Valley firefighters were assisted at the scene by fire departments from Spring Valley, Hillcrest, Nanuet and Pearl River. Hillburn firefighters were on standby. William P. Faist Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedics also responded.
