WHITE PLAINS – A White Plains woman has been charged with felony grand larceny for allegedly stealing over $144,400 from her employer while she was head bookkeeper.
Sande Steelberg, 51, is alleged to have stolen the funds from SECS, Inc. in Mount Vernon, over a 16-month period. The company manufactures precision equipment for airlines and other industries.  She allegedly wrote 95 checks to herself between June 2014 and October 2015, and also failed to record a majority of those checks in the company’s check register. She allegedly used the money for personal expenses.
Steelberg was released on her own recognizance. If convicted, she faces up to five to 15 years in state prison.
