TOWN OF WALLKILL – President Container Group, a large independent producer of corrugated cardboard products, wants to expand its 522,000 square foot production facility in the Town of Wallkill by another 130,000 square feet.
Orange County Industrial Development Agency Chief Operating Officer Laurie Villasuso said the company is in a growth mode.
“They took an old building and repurposed it, which is a really incredible use of existing real estate in Orange County and they have been an incredible employer and partner to the local schools over the course of their residence in Wallkill,” Villasuso said. “It is really an exciting project to expand that project and bring more employment to the area.”
The company is looking to build two additions, one at 80,000 square feet on the east side of the facility and another, at 50,000 SF, on the south side.
President Container is seeking a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) arrangement along with exemption from mortgage filing fees and an exemption on sales tax on building materials.
