WASHINGTON – Congressman John Faso (R, NY-19) called on the US Department of Housing and Urban Development to address the “deplorable living conditions” at Bliss Towers in the City of Hudson.
Faso made an unannounced visit to the facilities to witness the conditions in the 135-apartment complex that is home to at-risk resident who have little access to proper recourse in response to health and safety deficiencies in the building.
“Completely unacceptable,” is how Faso characterized the conditions in a letter to HUD Secretary Ben Carson. ”What I saw during a recent visit combined with reading the recent inspection reports made it clear that Bliss Towers needs immediate intervention from HUD,” Faso wrote.
Hudson Mayor Rick Rector said he appreciates “any and all efforts being made to address the needs of Bliss Tower to ensure that the residents are provided a safe and quality place to reside.”
