HUDSON VALLEY – Power remains out in large areas of the region
as the area’s utility companies have recruited the aid of repair
crews from across the country and Canada. Some parts of the region will
not see electricity restored for days.

NYSEG said as of Sunday night, 57,000 customers in the Brewster and Liberty
divisions remain without power.

The company said more than 1,200 personnel responded to the storm statewide
and additional resources were brought in to assist.

As of 7 a.m., Central Hudson reported some 12,500 customers remain without
power.

In southern Dutchess and Putnam counties, restoration is expected by Monday
afternoon, and those impacted in northern Dutchess, Ulster and Greene
counties are not expected to have the lights come back on by or before
Tuesday afternoon.

Orange and Rockland Utilities reported that approximately 87,000 customers
have been restored with about 6,800 remaining without electricity Monday
morning.
