BREWSTER – A man, whose
SUV slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 84 in Brewster
on Wednesday was a resident of Queens.
State Police, Friday, said the man was Donovan Grant, 63, who was pronounced
dead at the scene of the crash on I-84 eastbound near the entrance ramp
to I-684 northbound.
Initial investigation suggested the Jeep Liberty that he was driving was
traveling on the I-84 eastbound entrance ramp from I-684 northbound. For
an unknown reason, it left the ramp, crossed the eastbound lanes, the
center median, then entered the westbound I-84 lanes and struck the tractor-trailer.
Interstate 84 was shut down for several hours following the accident so
that an investigation could proceed.
