MONTICELLO – A developer has expressed interest in breathing new life into a long-closed entertainment venue on Broadway in Monticello.
Mayor Douglas Solomon said if it pans out, the project could signal a renewed interest in the business district.
“Apparently there is some interest in the Broadway Theater,” Solomon said. “There is a developer that wants to purchase that property and redevelop that as a theater. That’s very good news.”
That theater seats over 800 people.
The last use of a portion of it was for Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce offices several years ago.
