Friends and family gave the Honor Flight vets a rousing sendoff
at Stewart Airport last April

WALDEN – Hudson Valley Honor Flight set its next two flight dates – Mission 19 from Stewart International Airport near Newburgh on April 14, and Mission 20, on May 19 from Westchester County Airport near White Plains.
Area veterans have begun to apply to participate in the spring flights to Washington, DC to visit their respective war memorials at no cost to them, but officials are now spreading the word with the expectation that more World War II and Korean War vets will want to participate.
Veterans who served during that era but might not have served in either war are also eligible to apply.
“We are looking forward to taking these great men and women who served our nation with such distinction to Washington, DC,” said Honor Flight Board Chairman Frank Kimler.
