Two arrested following Esopus traffic stop

ESOPUS – A man and woman were arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies following a traffic stop on Route 9W in the Town of Esopus. Deputies pulled over their vehicle at about 12:48 p.m. on Sunday, January 28.
The driver, Ebani James, 25, of Saugerties, was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and was in possession of a quantity of narcotics. She was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and possession of drugs. She was released after posting bail.
The passenger, Tyrone Davis, Jr., 23, of Poughkeepsie, was wanted by City of Poughkeepsie Police on felony charges stemming from a domestic dispute. He was later turned over to city police.
Deputies were assisted by the Ulster Sheriff’s K-9 unit.
