ALBANY – A state comptroller’s
office audit of the Ulster County Social Services Department’s Preschool
and Children and Family Services units have received good grades.

The purpose of the audit was to determine whether claims were properly
authorized, supported, audited and paid in accordance with contracts for
the period of January 1, 2016 through July 24, 2017.

The audit found the department has adopted a multi-level claims approval
process and payments to vendors generally were made in accordance with
contracts and represented actual documented expenditures.

As a result, auditors had no recommendations to make at the conclusion
of their study.
