MIDDLETOWN – An early morning no-knock warrant search at 43 Lafayette Avenue in Middletown on Friday led to the arrest of a resident and the seizure of drugs, cash and a weapon.
The raid was conducted by the Middletown City Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group and State Police.
The search warrant was obtained following an investigation into the sale and trafficking of crack cocaine, heroin and fentanyl by one of the residents.
The primary target, Shaheed Emery, 37, was taken into custody without incident inside the basement of the residence. He had moved to Middletown recently and had been living there since last June.
During the search, police located 155 grams of crack cocaine, 55 grams of cocaine, 80 grams of fentanyl, 12 grams of marijuana, a loaded .22 caliber handgun, and some $33,000 in cash.
Emery was charged with three felony counts of drug possession and one count of possessing a weapon.  He was sent to the Orange County Jail without bail.
