Kingston woman charged with attempted welfare fraud

KINGSTON – A Kingston woman was arrested on Tuesday on four felony charges of offering a false instrument for filing and criminal possession of a false instrument in an alleged attempt to illegally collect welfare benefits.
Ayesha Green was also charged with a misdemeanor of attempted welfare fraud.  An investigation by the county determined Green submitted various applications and forms to the Department of Social Services that contained false information and forged signatures in effort to obtain public assistance.
