Newburgh man arrested for firing gun

NEWBURGH – A City of Newburgh man was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly firing a handgun outside.
Police were alerted by a caller and the ShotSpotter system to a shot fired near South Lander Street and Carson Avenue at 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19.
Responding officers observed Jawkaan Kenney, 33, in the backyards between Overlook Place and Carson Avenue and after a brief foot pursuit, he was detained. Officers located a semi-automatic handgun near him.
