MONTICELLO – A Monticello man was sentenced in Sullivan County
Court to 21 years to life in state prison for killing the caretaker at
a Town of Thompson bungalow colony.

Ricky Bolden, 37, pled guilty to murder and admitting intentionally killing
John Ferrari, 61, of Riverdale, New Jersey by striking him repeatedly
with a shovel.

Ferrari’s body was hidden on the Pardess bungalow property on September
23, 2016.

Bolden worked for Ferrari at the bungalow colony.

Sullivan County District Attorney James Farrell said forensic investigators
found the victim’s blood on Bolden’s sneakers, his sweatshirt
and his jeans and also found a glove that had been tossed in the garbage
with the Ferrari’s blood on the outside and Bolden’s DNA on
the inside.

Farrell praised the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office for leading
the criminal investigation into the murder as well as the DA’s office,
State Police, Monticello Police and the State Police Forensic Investigation
Center.
