PLEASANT VALLEY – A man, who allegedly fled the scene of a hit-and-run auto accident on December 16, was arrested the following day when he was stopped for speeding on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Pleasant Valley and a state trooper saw that his vehicle matched the description of the one from the incident.
Ceferino Garcia, 37, of Mahopac was charged with leaving the leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both as misdemeanors. During the traffic stop, police found illegally possessed drugs.
Garcia was issued traffic tickets and an appearance ticket returnable to town court.
