GOSHEN – Office space at Orange County’s Valley View nursing home in Goshen will be freed up early in the new year as the County Clerk’s Office moves back to the government center in the Village of Goshen.
County Executive Steven Neuhaus renewed his call for expanded services on the campus as he addressed the Orange County Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday.
He would like to see a healthcare facility locate onsite to provide medical services to residents and then develop adjacent county land for residential units.
“An elderly couple or people over 50 want to start doing medical care here and if they need to have in-patient treatment, you have Valley View there,” Neuhaus said. “Then you have 80 acres to have a proposal for senior housing so seniors can live there and God forbid, if one needs extra care, they can just walk to visit each other and if they need a doctor’s appointment, you would have that.”
Neuhaus’ concept would need a buy-in from the new county legislature.
