HIGHLAND – Statistics for the month of September show the five bridges operated by the New York State Bridge Authority saw increases in traffic and revenue.
Traffic rose to 5.48 million crossings compared with 5.42 during the same month last year. That is a 1.1 percent increase.
Revenue rose by 0.52 percent, to $4.89 million in September 2017 from
$4.19 million this year during the month.
In the first three-quarters of the year traffic stayed essentially the same as the same period in 2016, at 0.04 percent.
Revenue fell by 0.81 percent, which Bridge Authority explain as there was
the extra calendar day in leap year 2016 as well as two significant snow
events that occurred in early 2017 that impacted traffic and revenue compared
to 2016.
