MIDDLETOWN – The Middletown
Common Council Monday night approved the agreement with Amy’s Kitchen
to sell the natural food producer water and wastewater services when its
nearby Town of Goshen facility is built next year.
The construction on the infrastructure from the city to the town should
begin early in 2018. Some of the pipes will be in the same location as
the Heritage Trail that will also be built, Middletown Mayor Joseph DeStefano
told council members.
“In March, Amy’s will begin putting their water and sewer lines in, maybe earlier, that in April, the trail construction will begin. That is what they told me consistently for the last several months,” he said.
DeStefano said the Amy’s deal will bring some $600,000 into the city’s coffers annually.
