WAWARSING – Two elderly
people who had been riding on an ATV on Saturday were found dead in a
pond in the Town of Wawarsing, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office
said.
A worker on the property found the bodies of Filipo Zolli, 83, and Johann Zolli, 84, both of Greenfield Park.
Investigators said the couple appears to have been riding tandem on an ATV on their property. At around 3:25 p.m. they lost control and entered a shallow body of water, sustained significant injuries and succumbed in the water.
The sheriff’s office dive team removed the bodies.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
