POUGHKEEPSIE – The American Red Cross announced the appointment of Kelly Formoso as executive director of the Mid-Hudson Valley chapter, serving the counties of Dutchess, Ulster, Greene and Columbia counties.
Most recently she served as the chapter’s disaster program manager.
A native of Monroe, Formoso joined the American Red Cross as an AmeriCorps National Preparedness and Response Corps member in Central Maryland. From there she held several positions with the Central Illinois Chapter of the organization before returning to the Mid-Hudson to manage disaster cycle services in January 2016.
Formoso replaces former Executive Director Laurynn Myers, who is now working in disaster operations and logistics for the Red Cross at a national level.
Red Cross regional board member Nancy Aronzon said Formoso is “a perfect” to lead the Mid-Hudson region organization.
