Westbound traffic began crossing the bridge a month ago

TARRYTOWN – The Thruway Authority announced that operations to shift Westchester-bound traffic to the Governor Mario Cuomo TZ Bridge will begin weeks earlier than planned taking place the night of Friday, October 6.
The new bridge consists of two spans. In late August, the first span was opened to Rockland-bound traffic with four lanes while Westchester-bound traffic continued to use the old bridge.
Traffic will consist of four lanes in each direction allowing the construction company to demolish the landings of the old bridge, which occupy the same footprint of the second bridge, and connect the second span to land.
